The Breakfast Challenge - Week 3

This week is getting better, woot! I'm getting up early and am ready for my children when they wake up. I've started reading the Bible to them during breakfast, though I have missed a day here and there. But that's OK! I'm not going for perfection, I'm going for consistency. Consistency calls me to keep going even when I miss a day or two.

I'm happy with the progress made thus far. Really. I only hope I can keep it going!! I might have to continue posting updates until it's firm and solid around here. ;)

So, this week, I'm going to focus on making some hot breakfasts. I'm not aiming for everyday -- yea, I don't want to set myself up for failure. I'm aiming for 2-3 days a week to start. Then I hope to bump it up to 4-5 days a week and keep it running steady from there.

I want our breakfast time around the table to become something special, memorable, and maybe traditional. Something that will be meaningful and bear fruit through the coming weeks, months, and years.

It's a great opportunity for living out Ephesians 5:15-16:

Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

This is an opportunity to connect with my children, while we're all together and engaged in the same activity. We can talk about the Bible and life questions. We can simply enjoy one another's company over good food. I don't want to rush through it so we can "get on with our day". Rather, I want it to become a vital part of our day.

What new habit are you adding this week, or are you continuing in?
