That's why I choose to spend it wisely. I choose to spend my time on things that really matter to me rather then waste it on things that don't.
Seems simple, right? Because it is!
I am not a TV watcher. So my hours in the evening are not spent in front of the television. They are spent writing or connecting with the community online. That's a personal decision I made based on what I value more. That's all.
My husband does not watch TV either in the evenings. He's a runner. When he's not running he's reading beside me or browsing the news on the web. Sometimes, he plays Angry Birds on his phone. Guys. ;)
I value writing over watching TV.
The thing about any hobby is you need to make intentional time to do it. It doesn't necessarily require hours of time set aside per day.
How about 15 minutes or half an hour to just pen your thoughts? Sometimes we can allow our writing to get lost in the midst of all the technicalities of blogging and social media.
Set all that aside and just write.
Plan ahead a little and set aside time for the blogging extras so they aren't interfering with your writing.
Have a quiet time in the afternoons with your children--again, another 15 or 30 minute block of quiet for you to write and your children can quietly look at books or put together a puzzle. Down time is good for everyone! :)
Ask your husband if you can get away to a nearby coffee shop or the library for a couple hours on a Saturday or Sunday. It really is a wonderful refresher for moms.
Additionally, set aside some time each week to work on anything on your blog that is behind the scenes. Arranging buttons or organizing a series.
The whole goal is simply to remain consistent. Those little spouts of time will compound if you keep up with them.
What do you find most challenging in finding time to blog?
