Blogging Through the Gospels ~ Matthew 8

SOAP Amy from Mom's Toolbox is hosting "Blogging Through the Gospels" through July, before beginning the next session of the Bible in 90 Days Challenge.

Today's reading was Matthew 8. You can read what others gathered from this chapter at Mom's Toolbox.

Scripture:Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

Observation: At first I didn't have a clue what this meant--thank God for my husband. ;) I thought Jesus was referring to inviting the homeless in to sleep; using himself as an example. But no. Jesus is referring to people's lives--our lives--my life. He was saying that there is no place for Him in our lives because we don't make room for him. He has no place to stay.

Application: Am I making room for God in my life? Even more, am I offering Him the best of what I have to offer? Or is there no place for Him in my "busy" life? This was a tough pill to swallow; because I know the truth. God all too often gets my "left overs".

Prayer: Dearest Father, forgive me for the times I've pushed you out and gave you no place; no time in my life--the life you've given me! Please change my heart and help me fully recognize how much I need you in my life. Not only will I make room, but I want to give you the best of what I have to offer. Thank you for this truth, Lord. ~Amen
